Join them tonight (July 07) for this exclusive film showing of Caribou Homeland by David Moskowitz! This documentary showcases how two First Nations communities in western Canada teamed up to protect the land and the caribou which they have relied upon for generations.

David Moskowitz
David is the team leader of the Mountain Caribou Initiative. He is a biologist, photographer and the author of three books, Caribou Rainforest, Wildlife of the Pacific Northwest and Wolves in the Land of Salmon. David has contributed his technical expertise to a wide variety of wildlife studies focusing on using tracking and other non-invasive methods to study wildlife ecology and promote conservation. Naomi Owens-Beek
Naomi comes from the community of Moberly Lake, B.C. and is a proud Cree, Dunne-Za and Canadian woman from the Saulteau First Nations. Naomi is the honored mother of Spencer Ron Beek. She graduated from the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria and is now a Registered Professional Biologist. Naomi is currently the Treaty Rights and Environmental Protection Director for the Saulteau First Nations. She sits on the board of directors for the Twin Sisters Native Plant Nursery, is a society director for the Nikanese Wahtzee Stewardship Society and a board member for the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program. She holds high regard for the rights and Spirit and Intent of the Treaty 8 Nations. 

Tim Burkhart
As Y2Y’s B.C. Manager, Strategic Engagement and Peace Region, Tim coordinates the efforts of local conservation organizations, First Nations, scientists, government, industry and other interested parties to conserve biodiversity and wildlife connectivity in B.C. He advocates for conservation solutions in provincial policy initiatives, engaging with decision makers on ecological legislation and policy campaigns.
